Arapaho Hills a mid-century modern neighborhood in Littleton Colorado

I have been a resident of Arapaho Hills for nearly eighteen years. I moved here from Washington Park in Denver because I was drawn to this wonderful neighborhood's unique homes with intriguing architectural details and character.   Arapaho Hills is nestled on the West side of Littleton in the award winning Littleton Public School District. With easy access to the South Platte river and bike trails, old town Littleton and light rail, Arapaho Hills has it all.

Arapaho Hills received the honor of being listed as a historic district in the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. This community of 56 unique, modern homes was constructed between 1955 to 1964.

The neighborhood was conceptualized by Edward Hawkins and Clyde Mannon, Arapaho Hills reflects the Usonian and International design styles in post-World War II architecture and their influence on the development of new forms of suburban residential subdivisions.  Several of the homes were Better Homes and Gardens Idea homes of the year. My personal home was one of two 1956 Idea Homes of the Year.

The neighborhood is brought together through the residents appreciation of the unique designs and common elements of their homes.
